Apply for a temporary path closure

Applications must be received a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the date of required closure.

The cost of closures is £800, plus the cost of advertising the required notices in the local newspaper, which ranges from £500 to £2,500 depending on the size of the notice required. Applicants will be invoiced after the notices have been advertised.

Before you complete the form contact the Countryside Access Team to see whether a path closure is needed. This may require a site meeting.
Complete the application form at least 6 weeks in advance of required closure date.
Applicants are responsible for erection and maintenance of their own signage and barriers, which must be agreed with the Countryside Access Team before starting any work on site.
Alternative routes and diversions must be agreed with the Countryside Access Team before work starts on site.
Procedures are in accordance with the Code of Practice to the Co-ordination of Street Works for Road Purposes and Related Matters - November 1992.
