The NEET Team
The Post 16 NEET Team supports young people aged 16-19 (with some extension of support for 20-24-year-olds) who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) and experiencing significant barriers to re-engaging in Education, Employment or Training (EET).
This may be due to social, economic, wellbeing and/or health issues.
The aim of our work is for our young people to improve their wellbeing; develop aspirations; successfully transition into education or training; and/or acquire employability skills that will enable them to enter and sustain employment.
We do this by providing bespoke and holistic support for each young person through:
- 1 to 1 support and advocacy via an allocated Lead Worker/TLO
- Employability and wellbeing support via small group work sessions
- Brokerage of external wellbeing, education and/or training provisions
- Help with funding towards items that will help reduce barriers to EET, such as travel, essential workplace equipment, qualifications, work related licences, and so on
- Support to find and access education, employment, and training opportunities
The NEET Team office is located at Info Nation (youthaccess.org) (opens new window) (47 The Kingsway, Swansea, SA1 5HG) - the young people's information, advice and guidance centre.
However, our Lead Workers have the flexibility to meet and work with young people in the places they feel most comfortable, which can include their home, local libraries, coffee shops, youth hubs, and so on.

The NEET Team is currently providing EET support under Swansea Council's new Employability Anchor Programme (subject to approval), Pathways to Work under the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund .
