Partnership working to help tackle poverty in Swansea
There are currently three forums set up in Swansea to help address issues around poverty in the area.
- Swansea Poverty Partnership Forum (SPPF)
- Financial Inclusion Forum (FIF)
- Swansea Food Poverty Network (SFPN)
Swansea Poverty Partnership Forum (SPPF)
The purpose of the Swansea Poverty Partnership Forum is to bring together organisations and services in Swansea to take a combined approach to local action to tackle poverty in our city.
The forum's focus is on collaboration and support, providing a space to network and to share good practice; key messages, resources, information on training and upcoming events; identify gaps / barriers; local trends; and develop / shape new opportunities for partnership working and collaboration.
Space in each meeting is set aside for partner updates. The forum is open to representatives of all public and third sector organisations, and services with a shared commitment to, and involvement in, tackling poverty in Swansea. SPPF meets quarterly, online via Microsoft Teams and is co-ordinated and facilitated by Swansea Council's Tackling Poverty Development Team.

Financial Inclusion Forum (FIF)
The purpose of the Financial Inclusion Forum is to promote partnership working to increase financial inclusion, capability and wellbeing; with a view to reducing the impact of poverty in Swansea.
The forum's focus is on collaboration and support, providing a space to network and to share good practice; key messages, resources, information on training and upcoming events - with a focus on financial inclusion and financial wellbeing; identify gaps/ barriers; local trends; and develop / shape new opportunities for partnership working and collaboration.
Space in each meeting is set aside for partner updates. The forum is open to representatives of all organisations and services in Swansea that provide support, or are a stakeholder in work, to improve and promote financial inclusion, capability and wellbeing. The FIF meets quarterly, online via Microsoft Teams and is co-ordinated and facilitated by Swansea Council's Tackling Poverty Development Team.

Swansea Food Poverty Network (SFPN)
The purpose of the Swansea Food Poverty Network (SFPN) is to bring together organisations and services in Swansea who are directly involved in the provision of food for people in Swansea who are experiencing food poverty or food insecurity.
The network's focus is on collaboration and support, providing a space to: network; share good practice; information and resources; support referrals and ensure people know how and where to access food support; co-ordinate services and fill gaps in provision, identify local trends and new opportunities, link to wider support, and support volunteers.
The network is open to all representatives from, for example: food banks; community pantries; community groceries; food shares/ organisations involved in hot food provision, along with key contacts from organisations providing wider crisis support.
SFPN meets bimonthly, online via Microsoft Teams and is co-ordinated and facilitated by Swansea Council's Tackling Poverty Development Team.
