Sport and health
Helping to create a healthier, more active city.
ParkLives offers fun activities in parks, encouraging people to make new friends and enjoy the green spaces in their local community. We also have virtual sessions in order to keep Swansea active during the pandemic.
Swansea has numerous leisure and sport centres located across the city. All of our large sports and leisure centres are managed by our partner Freedom Leisure who offer a wide range of activities, facilities and membership options.
The National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) allows health professionals to refer inactive patients with a variety of medical conditions to a short- term, supervised programme of physical activity at a local venue.
Swansea has a proud tradition of producing great sports people. It takes dedication, determination and hours of hard work to maintain the city of sport we know and love.
We run a number of Royal Life Saving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) 8th Edition courses to equip people with the right skills to apply for jobs like pool lifeguards and leisure attendants.
