Ghostly treat a spooktacular success
Our city centre came alive with all things dead as ghouls and ghosts of all kinds dropped in for a spectacular Spooks in the City.
St David's Place was turned into a Halloween house of enchantment, thrilling families with live entertainment, spooky competitions, and a ghost train.
Participants were captivated by the immersive entertainment including spooky science experiments live on stage, face painting and visits by top stars Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Halloween regular Frankenstein.
There were also lots of games to play, dancing, music and even a chance to take photos at the Enjoy photobooth, ensuring that everyone found something to enjoy.
Local resident of Swansea, Nicola Williams, said: "We came last year, and we were pleased to come again. A fun, free activity to get the kids dressed up in the lead up to Halloween and start the half term".
Robert Francis-Davies, Cabinet Member for Investment, Regeneration, Events and Tourism at Swansea Council, said: "Spooks in the City was a fantastic free family day out and we're delighted it went so well, attracting hundreds more people into the city centre.
"Along with providing safe, enjoyable and free entertainment in the city for Halloween, local businesses benefitted from an increase in footfall over the weekend.
"This is the first of a number of events taking place in the coming weeks as we look to further boost the city centre's vibrancy in the build up to Christmas."
With thanks to the Spooks in the City supporter, The Childcare Offer for Wales.
Upcoming events in the city include Swansea's Annual Fireworks display 'Musicals After Dark' on November 5 at St Helen's Rugby ground with live entertainment starting from 5pm, as well as Swansea's famous Christmas Parade with Santa and his sleigh coming later in the month.
