Renew or apply for a residents parking permit

Applications can take up to 2 working days to be checked and processed. Until you receive your digital permit, you will not be allowed to park in a residents bay.

What you will need to apply/renew:

  • your V5 log book - must show your name and Swansea address
  • your driving licence - must show your name and Swansea address
  • your insurance document/certificate - must show your name and Swansea address
  • your Council Tax number

Parking permits are free and aim to allow residents to be able to park near their property.

Only vehicles with a valid permit can be parked in permit holder bays, unless limited time parking is also allowed at that location.

Your permit will be valid 12 months from the date of authorisation: you will then need to re-apply providing the same evidence. If you have provided an email address, an automatic reminder will be issued, but it is your responsibility to make sure you have a valid permit.

If you change your car you can amend the registration number for your permit on your online account that will be created for you when you first apply, or you can contact us on 0345 520 7007 - Monday to Friday 8.00am - 8.00pm, Saturday 8.00am - 4.00pm and Sunday 10.00am - 4.00pm.
