A £1 billion transformation story is under way in Swansea, thanks to major investment from the council, other public sector partners, the private sector and both the UK Government and Welsh Government via the Swansea Bay City Deal.

The Swansea Bay City Deal is a £1.3bn investment secured by the Swansea Bay City Region for 11 major projects across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

Covering Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire and Swansea, the regional economic delivery plan aims to build on a major study that's identified regional strengths and opportunities.

Beyond bricks and mortar (BB+M) is an important initiative to secure community benefits from all suitable council activities in the City and County of Swansea for the lasting benefits of the community.

This policy could lead to tenants forming a co-operative and taking more of a role of the management of sites.

We've transformed The Kingsway in the city centre with new public areas, landscaped parkland, cycle routes and two-way single lane vehicle route alongside wide pedestrian walkways.
