Recycling changes - black bags and garden waste

Due to large increases in recycling and reductions in the amount of black bag waste collected, we need to update our service to make best use of the collection vehicles and crews available to us.

Black bags will be collected on a GREEN week

Garden waste will be collected on a PINK week

There will be NO garden waste collections between 2 December 2024 and 28 February 2025. Garden waste will be collected on your pink week when the kerbside collections restart (from 3 March).

If you're due to receive your PINK week collection the week starting 2 December the changes will start as follows:

• week starting 2 December: pink week: (pink bag, black bag, food bin) 
• week starting 9 December: NEW green week (green bags, black bag, food bin)
• week starting 16 December: NEW pink week (pink bag, food bin)

If you're due to receive your GREEN week collection the week starting 2 December the changes will start as follows:

• week starting 2 December: NEW green week (green bags, black bag, food bin)
• week starting 9 December: NEW pink week (pink bag, food bin)
• week starting 16 December: NEW green week (green bags, black bag, food bin)

Your bags and bins will still be collected on your usual collection day.

If you live in a flat with wheeled recycling bins you will see no change.
