Consultation on Revised Placemaking Guidance for Residential Development Supplementary Planning Guidance
Consultation has now closed. Comments are being considered. We will then report to Planning Committee with an updated Consultation Report and the final Document for adoption.
The Revised Placemaking Guidance documents provides guidance on how the relevant policies of the LDP should be applied to residential developments in order to ensure that good places to live are created.
The documents take account of the most recent changes to the national and local planning policy and guidance. This includes the stronger national emphasis on:
- Placemaking at all scales;
- The inclusion of sustainable drainage features; and
- The requirement for Green Infrastructure at all scales.
Placemaking Guidance for Residential Developments
Relates to developments ranging from 10 homes up to many 100s of homes. This includes strategic mixed-use developments and higher density city centre developments.
Placemaking Guidance for Infill and Backland Developments
Focusses on developments of 1-10 homes within existing communities.
Placemaking Guidance for Householder Development
Relates to alterations and extensions to existing homes.
