Our building control team offer a number of other services including plan checking, inspecting sports grounds and dealing with dangerous structures.
Dangerous structures
We deal with reports of dangerous buildings or structures. This could be anything from a loose slate on a roof to major instability caused by fire.
Demolitions
Buildings that are not in use or have fallen into disrepair can be demolished. This is often to make way for new developments or to remove a danger.
Fire risk assessment
Carrying out a fire safety risk assessment in the workplace is compulsory. This applies whether you are a large company or a sole trader.
Historic building works
Many of the historical records of existing buildings are archived with us. This includes details of any previous building works carried out at the property.
Plan checking for building regulations
Plans or drawings for proposed schemes are submitted to the council. We check them for compliance with the building regulations before work is started.
Safety certificates for sports grounds
Swansea Building Control deals with general and special safety certificates for designated sports stadia in the area.
