Conservation task day

10 July, 10.00am - 2.00pm

Meeting outside Bishop's Wood Countryside Centre, Caswell Road, Caswell, Swansea SA3 3BN

Join us at beautiful Bishop's Wood Local Nature Reserve and help with some habitat management tasks. We will be removing some non-native and invasive species to allow other species to thrive!

Guided bat walk

23 July, 8.45pm - 10.30pm

Parc Llewelyn Community Centre, Trewyddfa Terrace, Morriston, Swansea SA6 8PB

Led by Aaron Davies and Evelyn Gruchala - members of the Glamorgan Bat Group

The evening will start with a small indoors presentation on bats and a demonstration of how to use bat detectors. We will be using bat detectors to locate and identify any bats in the area. The walk offers an opportunity to learn a bit more about these fantastic and elusive creatures. 

  • Please bring a torch
  • Bat sightings cannot be guaranteed as they are a wild species but fingers crossed!
  • Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and terrain
  • Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult
  • This event is suitable for ages 8 years+

Big Butterfly Count

26 July, 10.30am - 12.45pm 

Meeting outside: Upper Killay Community Centre and Recreational Hall, Gower Road, Upper Killay SA2 7HQ.

We will be taking a leisurely walk along Pwll Mawr, heading towards Fairwood Pool.

Join The Big Butterfly Count at Upper Killay!

Help us count the amount and type of butterflies (and some day-flying moths) as part of this UK-wide survey aiming to assess the health of our environment.
