Updates and changes to housing services due to the coronavirus pandemic.
All our area housing office are now open: Area housing offices
Housing Options are continuing to process housing applications which can still be made over the phone or using the online form. We currently have a backlog of applications due to the volume being received and delays due to Covid. As a result of this, initial registration of applications is now taking 8 weeks.
We will carry on providing emergency repairs and out of hours service to ensure you remain safe in your home. Please be aware that non-urgent repairs may take longer than normal as we continue to work to protect tenants and staff during this current lock-down period. You will be advised of any delay when you contact the call centre to report your repair.
When you report a repair we'll ask you if:
- you or anyone in your home has been diagnosed with Covid-19/Coronavirus
- you or anyone in your home is self-isolating
- anyone in your home is at higher risk or has been advised to shield - ie over 70, diabetic etc
If you answer 'yes' to any of these questions, we'll work with you to assess your need for an operative to visit before deciding what to do next.
Our operative will also call you on the day of your appointment and ask the same set of questions, in case anything has changed since you booked.
It's important that the operative is able to keep a safe distance from you of at least 2m or 7ft.
This is to make sure everyone remains safe while the repair is being carried out.
