Health and safety

We make sure local businesses keep to health and safety legislation. This covers retail, some warehouses, most offices, hotels and catering, sports, leisure, consumer services and places of worship.

Health and safety in all other premises is managed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Inspections are carried out to make sure businesses and places of work keep to legislation and guidelines.

Health and safety training

It is your responsibility to give your staff advice, instructions and training in order for them to be able to do their job safely.

Health and safety in the workplace covers a range of topics covering all aspects of working conditions.

Reporting a workplace accident

Any accidents that occur in the workplace must be reported so that we can investigate what happened. We can then give advice on how to prevent it happening again in the future.
