Have your say on the draft Swansea Central Area Green Infrastructure Strategy

Swansea Council and Natural Resources Wales (NRW) have been working together with Green Infrastructure Consultancy to develop a draft Swansea Central Area Green Infrastructure Strategy - Regenerating our City for Wellbeing and Wildlife.

The strategy is designed to bring more nature into the Swansea Central Area providing multiple benefits such as:

  • addressing climate change,
  • increasing biodiversity,
  • improving residents and visitors wellbeing and enjoyment,
  • increasing investor confidence in the benefits of green infrastructure.

The strategy has been drafted following conversations with many local residents, visitors and businesses in and around the Swansea Central Area who told us they wanted a greener city which:

  • has fewer hard surfaces,
  • uses nature to provide space for wildlife and bring people joy,
  • improves visitor and trading experience,
  • is a destination and liveable city,
  • is a city which can adapt to and mitigate for climate change.

The Council and NRW would like to invite you tell us what you think of the draft strategy.  The consultation is open until midnight on 31 December 2019, and a copy of the strategy and the consultation survey can be found here.
