The extra Welsh date will take place the night before the band's re-scheduled Cardiff Castle gig on Saturday 5th June 2021 (originally scheduled for 10th July 2020, but postponed due to Coronavirus).

Essential Information

From playing chaotic house parties in their home city of Oxford to becoming major festival headliners across Europe, Foals' trajectory has been remarkable. They've earned critical acclaim (NME and Q Award wins, plus Mercury Prize, Ivor Novello and BRIT Award nominations) and fan devotion in equal measure. And while the majority of contemporaries have fallen by the wayside, Foals continue to hit new peaks.

Foals latest album, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 2 was released on 18 October 2019 and is considered the second half of a two-part project, being supplemented by their consecutive fifth studio album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 1, released 8 March 2019. The album cover was shot by famed National Geographic photographer, Maggie Steber, and was preceded by three singles; "Black Bull", "The Runner", and "Into the Surf". The album became the band's first to reach No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart.

Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Investment, Regeneration and Tourism, said:"Last week we were pleased to announce that Olly Murs is to play at Singleton Park on Saturday June 5 and today's announcement that we will once again be working with The DEPOT to bring Foals to Swansea on June 6 is great news.

We are doing our best to ensure that Swansea offers a really exciting events programme for next year and having these two great acts as a part of that, is a very welcome addition.  This will provide a boost for our residents, tourism businesses and visitors to Swansea.

We will of course ensure that any programme of activities is undertaken in accordance with the Government guidelines at that time; the safety of our residents, staff, partners and visitors is paramount.  However, this is positive and encouraging news and we look forward to welcoming Foals to singleton Park in 2021."

Foals are being brought to the city by DEPOT Live, the live-events arm of the DEPOT brand. Last year, it brought Nile Rodgers & Chic to the city centre, followed by the DEPOT's one-day family-friendly DEPOT in the Castle festival. In total, 13,000 people were fed, watered and entertained at the castle over a single weekend.
