Conservation Task Day

Meeting outside Bishop's Wood Countryside Centre, Caswell Bay Road, Caswell SA3 3BN
Join us at beautiful Bishop's Wood Local Nature Reserve and help us with coppicing and removal of some non-native and invasive species.
- Tea and biscuits provided
- Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather and terrain and ones that you don't mind getting dirty
- All equipment will be provided
- This activity is not suitable for children

Explore the Universe during Welsh Dark Skies Week 2025
To celebrate Welsh Dark Skies Week 2025, we invite you to attend a FREE day and night of incredible space science activities in Reynoldston, one of Gower's darkest places.
Day time: Planetarium
Sunday 23 February, 1.00pm - 6.15pm (multiple timeslots available)
Reynoldston Village Hall, 1AA, Church Meadow, Reynoldston, Swansea SA3 1AF
Enter our planetarium in Reynoldston Village Hall and discover constellations, star clusters, nebulas and galaxies - we explore them all.
This workshop will provide an inspirational environment for attendees to discover the wonders of the night sky. Guided by astronomers, we will explore how the sky has changed over the ages, covering everything from Celtic mythology to astrophysics and the impact of light pollution.

- Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult
- No refreshments will be provided during this this event
Parking: free - outside the village hall and opposite the church. Please ensure access is kept clear to the fire station at all times.

Night time: Stargazing
Sunday 23 February, 7.30pm onwards

Weather allowing, this will be a fantastic opportunity to see the night sky through high-powered telescopes, with astronomers guiding you through space and planets. You should be able to take incredible pictures with your phone through the telescope.
Poor weather alternative: in case of unsuitable weather conditions, we will host a fascinating astronomical lecture in the hall, covering space, time and planets.

Night-time Sea Shore Safari
23 February, 7.30pm
Meeting at Caswell Bay beach on top of the steps. Caswell Bay Road, Caswell SA3 3BS
Join us on a guided rockpool safari by torchlight to meet some of Caswell Bay's inhabitants and see what they get up to after dark!
- It is essential that each participant brings their own torch/head torch and if possible, wears bright/high-vis clothing
- Children must be 8 years+ to take part and all children must be accompanied by an adult
- Please wear wellington boots or other suitable sturdy shoes which can get wet
- Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and terrain
- Leave your rockpool nets at home as we follow the Seashore Code and use our hands and buckets instead (tubs provided)
