Electric vehicles - have your say

We are considering options for how we can improve electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

In line with Welsh Government's vision for EV charging in Wales and to support the actions set out in the Electric Vehicle Charging Strategy Action Plan, we are seeking to understand your thoughts on how to shape the future of our electric vehicle charging network.

In order to capture a comprehensive picture of current and future charging demands in Swansea, we encourage both those with an electric vehicle, and those without, to complete this survey, which will assist in identifying any additional barriers or considerations for the placement of future infrastructure, subject to funding.

Background

To date, we have installed 95 charge points across 26 council owned car parks. This first phase of infrastructure roll-out will be complemented by a second phase of investment in 2023/24, delivering fast charging capabilities to those who currently own an EV or want to transition to this vehicle type in future.

Investment in charging infrastructure ensures that charging provision is available and reliable for those who live, work, visit and travel through the area, improving public confidence and meeting Welsh Government ambitions of a low carbon, low emission transport system in Wales.

If you are an organisation, group or business, you can provide feedback via email at: zeroemissiontransport@swansea.gov.uk

The results of the survey will help evidence the need and demand for new locations and will assist in informing us of future grant funding applications for publicly available electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

If you require any additional information about this survey or would like to receive the questionnaire in any other format (such as large print) please email zeroemissiontransport@swansea.gov.uk
