Gower dormouse project

We will be using nest boxes, tubes and footprint tunnels, to maximise our chances of detecting these elusive nocturnal mammals.

Location: Near Fairwood Common

Survey period: May - November (weekdays, weather dependent)

Footprint tunnel checks:

• every fortnight for at least three months

Tasks include:

• checking and identifying footprints
• replacing used / damaged cards
• re-inking the ink pad

Nest box and tunnel surveys:

• checked once a month, alongside footprint tunnel checks
