To use one of our services you need to be known to, or have your care managed by one of the Community Mental Health Teams.

At CREST we offer three types of service - there are:

  • CREST Resource Centre (Day Activities)
  • CREST Employment Skills and Training
  • CREST Recovery College

CREST Resource Centre (Day Activities)

We offer a comprehensive choice of day activities for people experiencing more complex health needs. After assessment, we work with individuals to select activities reflecting the needs identified by their care and treatment plan. Our activities are based around four themes - academic, practical, healthy lifestyles and therapeutic.  Where possible, we aim for individuals to return to employment or education, and to be discharged from formal mental health services.

CREST Employment Skills and Training

CREST is an established provider of work skills, training and employment support, working in partnership with the Swansea Bay University Health Board. We have developed of a range of employment projects to assist those experiencing or recovering from mental illness to access vocational support and training or to pursue a range of work based activities (such as reception/administration work, gardening/groundwork, catering, recycling projects, courier service, and caretaking duties). We support individuals throughout the programme, helping them to develop their knowledge and skills.

CREST Recovery College

CREST Recovery College will be opening in September and aims to help individuals to become experts in their own care and develop the skills they need to rebuild their lives. The College is a formal learning institution that creates an environment in which people with a lived experience of mental distress feel safe, welcome and accepted and provide education as a route to recovery. The College is a collaboration between CREST, users of mental health services, Swansea University, Gower College and the University of Wales Trinity St. David. Our courses will assist with personal goals or act as potential steps into Higher education or employment.

Our courses are also open to carers of people who are have mental health problems. (Contact CREST directly to find out more about this.)
