Consumer advice

Citizens Advice provide free confidential and impartial advice on consumer issues. Their website has lots of information or if you'd prefer to speak to someone you can contact the consumer helpline or visit your nearest office.

The Citizens Advice website can help with lots of your consumer queries:

  • buying or repairing a car
  • something's gone wrong with a purchase
  • holidays and transport
  • insurance
  • you've changed your mind
  • post
  • phone, internet or TV
  • home improvements
  • energy
  • template letters
  • scams
  • event tickets
  • water
  • discrimination in the provision of goods and services

If you can't find the solution to your problems or need more advice you can contact the consumer helpline by phone on 03454 04 05 06 or Textphone on 18001 03454 04 05 06. The consumer helpline is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.

If you would like to speak to someone face to face you can visit a bureau in person.  You can find your nearest office using the search on the Contact Citizens Advice.

Citizens Advice notify Trading Standards about any complaints we need to investigate.
