Consultation on Draft Supplementary Planning Guidance: Conversion of Traditional Rural Buildings
We would like your views on a draft version of new planning guidance titled 'Conversion of Traditional Rural Buildings'.
The document provides supplementary planning guidance (SPG) in support of planning policies contained in the Swansea Local Development Plan (LDP). Its main purpose is to provide guidance as to how relevant policies of the LDP should be applied in order to assist in the determination of planning applications seeking to convert traditional rural buildings.
A previous version of planning guidance on the conversion of rural buildings was adopted as SPG to the previous development plan (the Unitary Development Plan). The new draft SPG has comprehensively revised and fully updated that document to accord with recent legislative and strategic planning context changes such as the new Planning Policy Wales (Edition 11, 2021) the National Development Framework 'Future Wales' (2021), as well as to accord with the adopted Swansea LDP.
We would like your views on whether this draft SPG document covers an appropriate range of planning issues and if you consider it provides sufficient clarity for applicants and decision makers on issues that must be considered when considering converting traditional rural buildings in the county.
Closing date: 12.00 noon Friday 6 October 2023
Please read the SPG document and answer the following questions to submit your views. Where your comment is made in relation to a specific paragraph, please state the paragraph number.
