The wood skip will no longer be available at Clyne HWRC from 13 December 2018. Wood waste can still be recycled at Llansamlet HWRC.

This will enable us to monitor and segregate different grades of wood to improve the recycling/treatment of wood waste following close scrutiny from regulators and the Welsh Government over recent months.

Clyne HWRC will have more space to allow for back-up containers for other materials at the site to reduce the likelihood of site users being turned away if containers become full.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sort it before you bring it

We are asking residents to make sure there are no recyclable materials in their black bags before they go into the non-recyclable skip at Clyne.

Why are we making these changes?
It costs Swansea residents around £4 million a year to send waste to landfill, but we have found that up to 70% of black bag waste can be recycled.

We can't allow for recyclable materials such as glass, cans, paper, plastics, cardboard, wood, textiles, food, and more to be buried under the ground.
