Citizenship ceremonies

Everyone who is accepted for naturalisation as British Citizens are required to take part in a citizenship ceremony.

During the ceremony you will need to take an oath or affirmation and pledge your allegiance to the Sovereign.

You will be sent your invitation letter from the Home Office. You should contact us as soon as you receive the invitation to make arrangements to come to a ceremony. On the day of the ceremony you must bring your invitation letter and a form of identification, such as a passport or driving licence.

Cefn Bryn Room

Citizenship ceremonies are held in the Cefn Bryn Room at the Civic Centre. The ceremony will be led by the Superintendent Registrar and local dignitaries will usually be there to welcome you as a new citizen. You will be presented with your certificate and a small gift to commemorate the occasion. You will have the opportunity to have your photograph taken by a professional photographer. After the ceremony you will be able to have refreshments and meet other new citizens.

Individual citizenship ceremonies

If you cannot come to a group ceremony or would like to have your own personal citizenship ceremony please contact us. You will need to pay to have an individual ceremony.
