Information for broadband suppliers and mobile network operators

Bringing better connectivity to Swansea is a priority for Swansea Council.

Residents of Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire will benefit from the Swansea Bay City Deal Digital Infrastructure Programme, which aims to deliver:

  • better broadband for everyone... leaving nobody behind
  • a smart region ready and able to innovate and adopt emerging technology
  • an inclusive digital landscape that meets everyone's needs

As part of the programme, the following priorities will be addressed:

  1. To ensure that the region's cities, towns, and business parks have access to gigabit-capable internet
  2. Prepare the region for 5G, improved 4G coverage and the internet of things, which includes smart homes, smart manufacturing, smart agriculture, virtual reality, and wearable technology to support healthcare, assisted living, and other sectors.

Delivery of better connectivity relies upon positive collaborations and the development of strong partnerships with infrastructure supplier and mobile network operators.

If you would like to discuss how you can get involved with the Digital Infrastructure Programme in the Swansea area, please contact your Digital Connectivity Relationship Manager, who is in place to provide support to industry contacts:
