Tue 2 August (and every Tuesday/Thursday) - Swansea Community Farm Volunteer Session

Opportunities to learn new things, connect with people, get active, take notice and give back to your community at Wales' only city farm - these are all things science says will make you feel better! Whether it's feeding and mucking out the animals, organic gardening, taking part in nature and conservation tasks, building and construction or site maintenance, we have something for everyone looking for to get outdoors and learn new skills.

Tots and toddlers come and play with us. We have scooters, trikes, balance bikes and many more. Join us for fun and games, start them young and have some fun. £6 per child.

Want to ride in a group for fun and friendship? Join us for our supported companion rides run every Wednesday from our Dunvant site. An easy adult supported ride with all abilities welcome. £3 per person.

Sat 6 August - Babell Graveyard Volunteer Morning

10.00am - 12 noon, at the graveyard entrance by 119 Middle Road, Cwmbwrla, Swansea SA5 8HQ

Help create a space for nature and people in the heart of Cwmbwrla at this much-neglected graveyard. Get some fresh air and great exercise, meet new people, find out more about the local history and the nature on your doorstep. Tasks include cutting and digging up brambles, litter picking and developing a garden area. Tools and gloves are provided but wear old clothes and sensible shoes and perhaps bring a drink and a biscuit for a break.

A birdwatching morning walk along the River Neath and Neath Canal at Aberdulais Basin. Beginners and non members welcome. Warm weatherproof clothing and boots may be necessary. Please leave dogs at home. Walks are undertaken at your own risk. Please book a place in advance.

Wed 24 August - Road Safety Cycle Training: Level 1

1.00pm - 3.00pm, BikeAbility Wales, Dunvant Rugby Club, Killay, Swansea SA2 7RU

National Standards Road Safety Level 1 for children aged 8yrs upwards. Training takes place in a traffic-free environment at our venue and helps you to learn to control your bike. Trainees must be able to ride a bike. £20 per person. Booking essential.

Thu 25 August - Road Safety Cycle Training: Level 2

10.00am - 2.30pm, BikeAbility Wales, Dunvant Rugby Club, Killay, Swansea SA2 7RU

National Standards Road Safety Level 2 for ages 10 yrs upwards. Training takes place on quieter residential roads and gives you a real cycling experience so you can deal with traffic on short journeys such as cycling to school or work. Trainees must have passed Level 1 training. £30 per person. Booking essential.

Wed 31 August - Woodland Fire Art

10.00am - 12 noon, Bishop's Wood Countryside Centre, Caswell, Gower SA3 1LS 

Have a go at lighting a fire and toasting marshmallows. Learn to make charcoal and create elder pencils. Please book in advance by email as numbers will be limited.
