Consultation on Development and Biodiversity (Consultation Draft) Supplementary Planning Guidance

The Council would like your views on the Development and Biodiversity (Consultation Draft) document.

The document provides supplementary planning guidance (SPG) in support of planning policies contained in the Swansea Local Development Plan (LDP).  Its purpose is to provide guidance on how the relevant policies of the LDP should be applied in order to ensure development within Swansea maintains and enhances the County's biodiversity and delivers long term ecosystem resilience.

This aim is in line with the Council's duties under Part 1, Section 6 of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016, and the Resilient Wales Goal of the Well Being of Future Generations (WBFG) Act 2015.   The Council's commitment to delivering the S6 Duty is embedded within the Local Well Being Plan and is also identified as one of the Council's corporate priorities.

The Council would like your views on whether the draft SPG document covers an appropriate range of planning issues and if you consider it provides sufficient clarity for decision makers and applicants and their specialist advisors on the important principles governing development and biodiversity.

Please read the SPG document then answer the online questionnaire at the following link:
