Flags lowered after New Zealand attack

FLAGS have been lowered at Swansea Council buildings in solidarity with New Zealand after an attack on two mosques left 50 people dead.

The killings in Christchurch on Friday have sparked outrage around the world.

Rob Stewart, Swansea Council Leader, said: "None of us can fail to be horrified by this attack or moved by the stories of those who were involved.

"We would like to offer our heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of everyone affected.

"It is fitting that the flags are lowered in council buildings as the people of Swansea and South West Wales show solidarity with those lost and injured in New Zealand."
