It will showcase the many forms of support available to people of all ages looking for work, whether first-time jobseekers or those looking for a new challenge or a step up.

Swansea Working, an employability service run by Swansea Council and its partners, is organising the event at the YMCA on The Kingsway on Tuesday January 22.

Members of the public can drop in anytime between 10.15am and noon to find out more about how the service works and all the opportunities that are available.  There will be information about current vacancies, training and benefits.

A large number of employment related services and training providers will be among the partners attending.

Cllr Mary Sherwood, Swansea Council's joint Cabinet Member for Better Communities, said: "I'm really pleased to be supporting this event and I would encourage anyone thinking about new employment opportunities to attend.

"Swansea Working can help people find new jobs, better jobs, or training. The service also aims to remove the barriers that keep many people stuck in unemployment or low-paid work.  Childcare and transport are the most common problems, and the team is here to help.

"Among the services available are personalised employment action plans, training, help with CV development, help with interview skills and support with job applications as well as work experience placements, apprenticeships and in-work support.

"The Swansea Working team has already had many successes in helping people into work and training in a variety of sectors.  They are friendly, supportive professionals keen to find solutions to any difficulties people have when job-seeking.

"There is no obligation on anyone who attends on Tuesday but I'm sure they will find it interesting and helpful."

Anyone unable to attend or requiring more information can email or phone 01792 578632.
