The May 19 wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is expected to generate a world-wide audience running into the hundreds of millions.

And Swansea Council will be helping Saturday morning visitors take a break from the shopping by broadcasting the BBC's coverage from 9am to 2pm from the comfort of free deckchairs.

Robert Francis-Davies, Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Special Events, said: "Prince Harry's wedding to Meghan Markle will be a little bit of history in the making with a sprinkling of stardust for good measure.

"Hopefully the sun will shine in Swansea and residents who want to take a break from the shopping to watch will be able to do so."

At the moment two streets in Swansea - one in Langland, the other in Killay - have signed-up for temporary street closures so residents can enjoy a community day celebrating the wedding.
