More stars confirmed for BBC's Biggest Weekend in Swansea

Excitement about the BBC's Biggest Weekend coming to Swansea has gone up another level today as more big names have been confirmed for the line-up.

During this morning's breakfast show on Radio One more of the acts who will be joining superstars Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran at Singleton Park on the late May bank holiday weekend were revealed.

They are Niall Horan, Jess Glynne, Years & Years, Wolf Alice, J Hus, Craig David and James Bay.

Tickets for the event go on sale on Monday.

The BBC's Biggest Weekend is being held over four locations in four nations between May 25 and 28 and will be the BBC's biggest ever celebration of music across TV, radio, online and mobile.

The Swansea shows take place on Saturday May 26 and Sunday May 27.

Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Major Projects, said: "We knew that securing this event for Swansea would be a massive coup but the reaction we have had since it was revealed that Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran would be playing has been overwhelming.

"Now that it has been confirmed that more big names have been added to the line-up I'm sure that excitement will only build further.

"It's going to be a great boost for local businesses because of the extra spending it will generate in our shops, restaurants, local accommodation, taxis, transport providers and others.

"We are going to have a packed calendar of major events in Swansea this year, cementing our position as Wales' Capital of Culture.

"These include the visit of the Man Engine, Little Mix and The Killers at the Liberty Stadium, the Wales Airshow and the exciting and innovative arts project Now the Hero / Nawr Yr Arwr in September."
