Permission to deposit A-frames / advertising boards / signs on the highway
If you wish to place A-frames, advertising boards or signs on the highway then you will need a permit from us.
Licences run for 1 year from the date of application.
A-frames, advertising boards and signs should not be placed on the highway before 7.30am or after 9.30pm unless express permission is granted by the Highways Authority.
Permits will not be issued if the placement infringes parking restrictions or contravenes any provision of the Highways Act 1980 or our policy on advertising signs placed on the highway.
Free passage for pedestrians must be maintained at all times.
You will need to have public liability insurance of at least £5 million. A copy of the current certificate of insurance must be provided with your application. You will be able to upload an electronic version as part of the form.
