The Hollies in Pontarddulais supports adults with non-nursing needs and those diagnosed with dementia.

Inspectors from Care Inspectorate Wales said it is a good service valued by its users and their families which is run by a well-established team who have a good knowledge of individuals who attend.

There is good governance and good systems in place to oversee the quality of service delivery.

The service actively promotes its Welsh language offer which has a positive impact of the wellbeing of users.

There are also strong community links in place with inspectors highlighting support from the local school.

Service users spoke of how happy they were at The Hollies and families complimented the care and its planning.

Work has been done to improve the decoration and furnishings in the dementia unit which has also been praised.

Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Care Services, Louise Gibbard, said: "I would personally like to thank our team at the Hollies for the work they do and congratulate them on their latest inspection report.

"Sometimes I don't think staff working in care get the recognition for the difference they make every day to the lives of those they support so I hope they are as proud of this report as I am.

"Well done to all who make the Hollies the service it is today, one that it is clearly valued by the service users and their families."
