The exploits of the Welsh volunteers who took part in the Spanish Civil War are well known. But did you know that Swansea gave shelter to 80 children from the Basque Country?

They are commemorated in a set of 112 haunting glass negatives held by West Glamorgan Archives, which have remained hidden - until now.  

This is the story of the Basque children who came to Swansea in summer 1937.
