Student recycling + rubbish

If you are living off campus in a flat or house there are recycling and rubbish collections to help you dispose of your waste.

Get it sorted! Sortwch e'!

The councils recycling team will be delivering recycling equipment and information to students living in rented houses in multiple occupation off campus in September, and promoting the service to residents during the first weeks of term.

You can also read the following guidance on the recycling and rubbish collections to make sure you Get it sorted.

Living in halls of residence on campus? Then read no further as you will receive a different service.

What do we collect?

Most of the waste you create at home can be recycled. Paper, cardboard, plastics, cans and glass, food waste and garden waste can all be collected from the kerbside. We also collect general household waste that cannot be recycled.

To find more information about which materials we collect and in which bag or container see our kerbside collections guide.

Collection day

If you live in Brynmill, Uplands, Mount Pleasant or Sandfields your collection day is Wednesday

If you live in a different area use our recycling and rubbish collections search to find out yours.

Recycling and rubbish containers should only be placed out for collection after 7.00pm the evening before or before 7.00am on the day of collection.

Keep track of collections

Collections in Swansea are split into Green and Pink weeks with different bags collected on a fortnightly basis. Calendars displaying this schedule will be delivered to most households in September and are available to download from the bottom of the page.
