Translating your LanguageThe council can use professional translators and interpreters to help you talk to us in your own language.The Council is a member of the Wales Interpretation and Translation Service partnership (WITS) through which written translation and face to face interpretation is sourced. Telephone interpretation is provided under a WITS contract with a third party - thebigword. If you would like to talk to council staff by using your first language (not English or Welsh), then ask about Language Translation. This service is available at every Council office. Staff will contact a translator for you if they cannot translate for you themselves. The service offers translation into over 100 languages including - Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, Croatian, Czech, Farsi, French, German, Greek, Gujerati, Hindi, Italian, Kurdish, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Somali, Spanish, Tamil, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese.
