IPC Athletics European Championships 2014

Tickets now on sale for IPC Athletics European Championships

The IPC (International Paralympic Committee) Athletics European Championships are coming to Swansea! Being hosted at the Swansea University International Sports Village between 18-23 August 2014, this is the first time the event has been held in the UK.

Tickets are on sale now

Come and watch this sporting event, as 600 athletes from 40 countries look to add to their medal collection.

The prices range between £3.00 -£7.00 and are available online from www.swansea2014.com, in person or over the phone at Swansea Tourist Information Centre on 01792 637300 and Penyrheol Leisure Centre on 01792 897039.

The event is being delivered by Swansea University, Swansea Council, Disability Sport Wales, British Athletics, Welsh Athletics and supported by Welsh Government.

Glynn Vivian

Art with Friends
Supported by the Friends of the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery
A series of workshops examining the role of the artist during World War I using works from the Glynn Vivian collection. The workshops will offer creative skills in poetry, graphics, printmaking and drawing. The work will be presented in the form of a collaborative book.

Glynn Vivian Road Show
 
Glynn Vivian Offsite will be visiting Swansea communities as part of our exploration into the Richard Glynn Vivian bequest and the Gallery's collection.
It is an opportunity for local residents to join in with art workshops, use our handling collection and gain expert advice from conservators and researchers.
Come along to a summer Glynn Vivian Road Show and meet our Gallery team for a fun afternoon of activities.

Swansea Museum

Throughout July and August Swansea Museum has lots of great workshops to keep your creative little ones busy, from medal making to puppets and cartoons! You can look around the exhibitions at the museum too - just look out for the Mummy!

Cwmdonkin Park

Come and Play in the Park with the City and County of Swansea's Play Team!
Fantastic play sessions for children.
Everyone is welcome, under 5's must be accompanied by an adult.
No booking necessary.

The castle is host to a packed calendar of events this summer, with something on offer for all ages. Whether it's getting arty with Arts and Crafts events, finding out if you have what it takes to become an Archaeologist, or even meeting some baby dragons!

Swansea Prom

Swansea Prom, with its range of attractions coupled with the spectacular 5 mile stretch of Swansea Bay, is full of fun-filled activities for everyone this Summer. 

Come and enjoy the swan and dragon pedalos in Singleton Boating Lake, a round of golf at Ashleigh Road Pitch & Putt, or let the kids play at Blackpill Lido and Southend Gardens, all connected by the Swansea Bay Rider land train. 

 


Big Screen Castle Square

Theres a special treat for the little ones this summer, with two of the biggest films coming to the Big screen at castle square - Frozen on Swansea's Big Screen and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Plantasia

For all the little ones out there who love nothing more than exploring their gardens, Plantasia is the place to be this summer holidays! You can learn all about Africa, home to some of the wildest animals the world has to offer, or you can find try out some tropical tastes, or even get up close with some creepy bugs - if you dare!
