Arranging your Ceremony

Firstly, choose the venue in which you wish to marry and set the date, but, before you confirm your booking with the venue, you must contact the local register office to check that registrars are available to attend.

A provisional booking can be made, by telephone, up to one year in advance of your ceremony, and this will be confirmed once you have given notice in the district in which you live, but, please book well in advance to secure the date and time of your choice.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - With effect from 1^st October 2013 a provisional booking can be made by telephone up to two years in advance of your ceremony. For bookings made more than one year in advance, the payment of a non-refundable fee will be necessary to secure the date and time until the legal preliminaries can be completed. Ceremonies at The Celebration Suite are held on Mondays to Fridays and on Saturday mornings.  For information regarding availability and times for the Celebration Suite, please contact the register office staff on 01792 636188 and we will be happy to help you

Approved Venue Ceremonies may be held on any day, with Fridays and Saturdays being the most popular.  Each local council sets the fees for marrying at an approved venue, and therefore fees are not the same throughout the country.

An "Out of Doors" Ceremony

This is an opportunity to take advantage of the wonderful settings of many of our venues.  A brief civil marriage within the approved building can be followed by a full traditional ceremony within the gardens of the venue.
