Park and Ride FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions about the Park and Ride service.

Q - How much does it cost to park?

  • The cost for parking and return travel into the city centre is £2.50.
  • That includes up to 4 passengers

Q - What time do the Park & Ride sites open and close?

  • Park & Ride sites open at 06:45 and close at 19:30

Q - What time does the first bus leave the car park?

  • The first bus leaves at 07:00 and the last bus leaves the city centre at 19:00

Q - When does the last bus leave the city centre?

  • The last bus for all three Park & Ride sites leave St Mary's Square at 19:00.

Q - What days does the service operate?

  • The service operates Monday to Saturday.

Q - Where do I get off the bus in the city centre?

  • The Landore and Fforestfach services have stops at High Street Station, Orchard Street, The Kingsway, Westway and Caer Street.
  • The Fabian Way service has stops at the Tawe Bridge (for SA1) and St Mary's Square.

Q - Where do I get on the bus in the city centre?

  • The Landore and Fforestfach services have stops at The Kingsway, Westway, Caer Street, High Street and High Street Station.
  • The Fabian Way service has stops at St Mary's Square and the Cape Horner pub on Fabian Way.

Q - How can I contact the sites?

  • The telephone number for Fabian Way is 01792 474592

Q - Can I leave my car at the sites overnight?

  • No, I'm afraid we have no facility for over night parking. If your car is inadvertently locked in there is a contact telephone number prominently displayed at the sites to enable you to get your car released. The vehicle release service is provided by PSM Security Management Tel 01792 646400.

Q - I think I've left something on the bus, who should I call?

  • In the first instance contact the car park concerned, lost property is usually handed into the office.

Q - Can I buy a season ticket for the park and ride?

  • Yes, we have voucher booklets available. The cost is £25 for 12 days parking which can be used at any site and at any time. The vouchers are not time limited.

Q - Can I use my Concessionary Travel Pass on Swansea Park and Ride?

  • Unfortunately the Authority is not in a position to provide a reduced fare on the Park and Ride service, for concessionary pass holders.  The standard charge of £2.50 is applicable to all users, with secure parking provision and bus travel included in this price. 

Q - Can I take a wheelchair on the bus?

  • Yes, all our buses are low floor and wheelchair accessible.

Q - What facilities do the sites have?

  • All sites have a building with seating, toilets, (including disabled and baby changing facilities), refreshment machines and public telephones (at Landore & Fabian Way).

Q - How do I pay or  where can I buy my ticket?

  • You can buy your ticket at the car park.
  • There are several pay and display machines in each car park. They need exact change but there is a change machine in the terminal building. The ticket machines issue two tickets. You need to leave one ticket in the car and take the other one with you on the bus.

Q - How do we compare with other Park and Ride sites across the UK?

  • Most sites charge per person whereas in Swansea we charge per car.
