We offer a wide range of fitness classes at our Active Swansea leisure centres for you to enjoy.

At Active Swansea, we offer over 120 fitness classes a week across our centres, so we're certain you can find something that fits into your hectic daily routine!

Classes which last up to an hour are £4.50 standard, £3.50 concessions and £2.25 for Passport to Leisure holders.  
Classes over an hour are £5.00 standard, £3.75 concessions and £2.50 for Passport to Leisure holders. 
All our fitness classes are free for members.

Due to the popularity of some classes, we advise you book in advance to guarantee your place. (We allow bookings up to 8 days in advance).

Cancellation policy
Should a member be unable to attend a pre-booked class for any reason, they must cancel their booking by 12 noon prior to the class. Failure to do this will result in full payment of the class. This applies to all members including direct debit and annual members who will incur an additional cost next time they are at an Active Swansea centre.

Burn 300-400 calories
Combining aerobic exercise with stretching and strength-training routines, aerobics will improve your general fitness as well as increasing your stamina, coordination and flexibility - a great fat-burning class.

Aqua Aerobics
Burn 300-400 calories
A pool-based fitness class which uses water resistance in a series of movements like walking or running backward and forward, jumping jacks, mimicking cross-country skiing to challenge your cardiovascular system and help build muscle strength.

Beginners' Fit
Burn 300-400 calories
We encourage you to workout at your own pace in this class which offers a mixture of circuits, Boxercise, Kettlebell and toning, but a lower intensity than usual - ideal if you haven't exercised for quite a while.

Burn 400-500 calories
Bokwa is a new and exciting dance-based workout that's different to others. Instead of counting steps participants draw letters and numbers with their feet while performing an energising and addictive cardio workout. Moving to today's most popular music, you'll draw the Bokwa L, 3, J, K and dozens of other steps. Great fun!

Boot Camp
Burn 400-500 calories
Look no further if you want a class that will put you through your paces. Our boot camps offer intense workouts that move from exercise to exercise with little rest in between. You'll tone and firm your muscles whilst getting a great cardio workout at the same time.

Burn 400-500 calories
You don't have to be Rocky Balboa to enjoy our Boxercise sessions and there is no direct physical contact - the only things you punch are the pads. Using boxing moves and techniques you'll develop strength whilst also toning and conditioning your body.

Cardio Tennis
Burn 600+ calories
This hour long class mimics the high-energy moves on a tennis court against a soundtrack of fast-tempo music. Featuring short, high intensity bursts followed by rest periods, it's sure to get your heart pumping, but don't worry you don't need to be great at tennis!

Burn 400-500 calories
A firm favourite with our members, Circuits is a multi-stationed fitness class designed to give an all-over workout. Stations are made up of exercises such as sit-ups, press-ups, weights, etc. and as you complete the circuit you'll combine cardio with toning and resistance - a great way to improve your strength, mobility and stamina.

Group Cycling
Burn 400-500 calories
Like cycling in the peloton, except you're stationary indoors and not out in the cold rain. Join our group cycling sessions and we'll get you adjusting the resistance levels of the bike to cycle at varying speeds and intensities, raising your heart rate and toning your lower body.

Retro Group Cycling 
Burn 500+ calories
Similar to our standard sessions, but we get funky with 80s music and disco lights - great fun!

Burn 400-500 calories
The 'kettlebell' weight resembles a cannonball with a handle, and in this class you'll perform a series of exercises using the kettlebell to tone and strengthen muscles in your upper and lower body.

Legs, Bums & TumsBurn 300-400 calories
In this gentler, lower impact workout we focus on strengthening exercises which will help tone your legs, bum and tum - ideal for perfecting your beach body!

Burn 300-400 calories
Within weeks of joining our Pilates sessions you will begin to notice your movement becoming more controlled and responsive, you should also have improved posture and feel more energised as your body reacts to its newfound inner strength. Don't take our word for it - Pilates is used my man professional athletes across a range of sports worldwide. The New Zealand Rugby team, Tiger Woods, Ryan Giggs, and Venus and Serena Williams to name but a few. 

Never 'hooped' before? Don't let that put you off!  These large diameter hoops make it easy to use. High-density foam padding makes power hoop comfortable to use, while the shape, size and weight create a versatile fitness tool that can be used in a variety of ways. Give it a try... you'll be astonished at the results!

Power Yoga

Suitable for beginners, as you have a reasonable level of fitness and mobility, Power Yoga offers a vigorous workout focusing on strengthening positions.

Pregnancy Yoga
The use of Yogic techniques can help women through their pregnancy with minimal discomfort, helping with the birth itself and beyond towards post-natal recovery.

It also puts you in contact with other mums-to be so you know you are not alone.

Pregnancy Yoga is appropriate in the second trimester of pregnancy, from about 15 weeks and it is wise to double-check with the midwife, or doctor if it is ok for you to start classes. In the first trimester it is best to focus on relaxation, working with the breath and resting while the body adapts to the radical changes the body is undergoing while pregnant.

Essentially, rebounding is a fitness class where you'll perform a series of moves whilst bouncing on a mini trampoline. Unlike regular trampolining, the aim isn't to bounce high or perform gymnastic tricks, but to perform a series of small, controlled movements to help burn calories and tone your body.

Stamina Swim
Burn 300-400 calories
Specifically geared towards improving swim fitness, Stamina Swim will help build up strength and endurance so you can swim further and for longer.

Step Aerobics
Burn 300-400 calories
Consisting of a choreographed routine with the use of step stations, which can be personalised to your own level of fitness by adjusting the height of the step, Step Aerobics focuses on improving different components of fitness including cardio, strength, endurance and tone.

Burn 600+ calories
Often described as the single most effective type of high intensity interval training, Tabata is a very versatile programme that can be used for weight loss as well as improving performance in most aerobic and anaerobic sports.

It is based on intervals, for example, doing an activity for 20 seconds, resting for 10 seconds and repeating 7 or 8 times. You'll need to be reasonably fit and we get you doing a series of different interval workouts to keep it exciting.

Tone & Zone
Burn 300-400 calories
We use a range of weights in this lower impact, non-aerobic class to help condition, sculpt and tone those stubborn areas of your body.

Burn 400-500 calories
Developed by a former US soldier, TRX is a simple strap harness with a pair of handholds which uses your own body weight to perform a series of resistance-based exercises like pull-ups, elevated push-ups, standing rows, one-leg squats, the list goes on (there are actually 300 different exercises you can do with it, so you're not going to get bored!).

Relax and vitalise your mind and body in our yoga classes. Yoga is a holistic workout designed to aid mental as well as physical fitness through a series of routines that help tone and shape your body, improve its flexibility and suppleness, regulate your breathing, and clear your mind.

Burn 400-500 calories
Move to the beat in Zumba, an exhilarating dance class which will have you dancing along to Latin-inspired rhythms whilst burning off calories and getting yourself fit and toned. It's a great, fun workout that increases strength, co-ordination and agility as well as building confidence.

Burn 300-400 calories
Each 20/20/20 session consists of three different workouts that are hugely beneficial because in one hour, you are able to take part in both cardio and strength-building exercises.
