Further information

It's an exciting time to join this local authority fostering service that was recently rated by the Care Inspectorate Wales as being well managed, with fostering teams that are enthusiastic and motivated to make a difference for children and with many committed foster carers who are strong advocates for the children in their care.

You will be part of an innovative and dedicated Fostering and Permanency team focused on providing high quality support to children and families in need of support. The role includes carrying out assessments of family and friends carers, supervision and support of those approved carers, provision of support groups and training to carers as part of the team and involvement in the running of the team duty service. You will also provide support directly to children placed in permanent placements.

Our staff tell us they love working in the family and friends team as it's a real opportunity to engage and support family members to keep children safe within their family unit ensuring their needs are met. It's a dynamic and challenging area of social work but one that is highly rewarding.

Moreover, Swansea is a great place to live and work. It is an innovative waterfront city at the heart of the wider Swansea Bay City Region. From stunning coastal scenery to tranquil parks, a thriving cultural scene to the best of modern city living, the city offers the best of all worlds.

If you have a Professional qualification in social work and are registered with the Care Council for Wales, and can bring skills, experience and passion to do this role we would like to hear from you.
