Cwmgelli cemetery

Cwmgelli cemetery was opened for burials in 1896. It covers around 8 acres in Treboeth.

The cemetery is now closed for new burials though interments are still made in existing family owned graves. 

Memorialisation options include a cremated remains plot scheme (bricked/earthen) and a scattering Gardens of Remembrance. Full kerb memorials are permitted in all sections of the cemetery. Services are available Monday to Saturday and are 30 minutes long.

Opening times

Access to cars and other vehicles are available at the following times. There are no restrictions for pedestrian access as public rights of way exist throughout the cemetery.

9.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday

9.00am - 4.00pm Friday

10.00am - 4.00pm Weekends & Bank Holidays.

Postcode - SA5 9DB

Travelling by car - Leave the M4 at Junction 45 and head towards Swansea on the A4067/ Ffordd Cwm Tawe. At the first roundabout continue straight on. At the second roundabout move into the right hand lane and take the third junction towards Brynhyfryd onto Cwm Level Road. Continue up the road and take the third right onto Quarry Road and the immediately right again onto Heol Nant Gelli. Continue straight on. At the far end of the road there is a dead end sign up ahead. Continue straight on and the cemetery gates will be ahead.

Travelling by bus - The cemetery is close to a local bus route. The No 36 from Swansea Quadrant Bus Station to Morriston stops on Llangyfelach Road approximately 6 minutes walk.from the cemetery.

Travelling by train - The nearest station is Swansea High Street Station.  Buses and taxis can be found at the front of the station.  Cwmgelli Cemetery is approximately 7 minutes drive.
