Achievable Access (Swansea Metropolitan University)

The Achievable Access was a project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund that assisted small-medium sized tourism businesses across all areas of Objective One Wales, working towards meeting the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

The project provided an opportunity for participants to access support, specific to the tourism industry, taking into consideration all aspects of the impacts that the DDA can have on small businesses and advised them on how they could respond to it accordingly.

 By participating in the project, over 100 businesses benefitted by having:

• An informal review of physical accessibility
• A review of internal systems and procedures
• Staff training
• An Access Statement, illustrating the existing extent of accessibility
• Full access to the knowledge and advice available from the staff on The Achievable Access Project
