Swansea Vale

image depicting Swansea Vale

Comprising some 190 hectares (470 acres), Swansea Vale provides unrivalled potential for business and residential development.

This flagship development is located only five miles from Swansea City Centre and is a model for city expansion. Swansea Vale is managed by the Swansea Joint Venture - a partnership between the City & County of Swansea and the Welsh Assembly Government. This new mixed use development consists of a new residential "village" called Tregof Village, and two large business parks. The development area also includes a range of informal recreation facilities, all set out in an attractive landscaped setting which complements the area's natural environment and features. The Objective 1 grant part funded the infrastructure provision including roads, lighting, landscaping and services. The Swansea Vale project is one of the last pieces of regeneration of the Lower Swansea Valley which was, at one time, the largest area of dereliction in the whole of Europe.
