Dead Animals

In Swansea, our animal wardens collect dead animals, such as dogs, cats and foxes from highways.

We do not collect small animals such as hedgehogs.  If you see a dead animal on a road or pavement, please let us know so that our animal wardens can collect it.

To report a dead animal and request collection please contact the Environment Department on (01792) 635600 or email evh@swansea.gov.uk.

Birds

If you find 5 or more dead birds, you should call the Defra Helpline on 08459 33 55 77. The Helpline will assess whether the birds are a high risk species requiring collection.

Farm Animals

The movement of dead farm animals is controlled.  For further advice please contact our Trading Standards Division
